a sunny vista of BarcelonaBarcelona is an extremely popular European destination because the city sits practically on the beach. You can spend all day soaking up the hot Spanish sun on the miles of golden sands, and then head out for a great night on the town.

But, you won’t just want to spend your days on the beach. There is just so much to do and see in Barcelona, you’ll have a hard time fitting it all in to a weekend or short break.

Restaurants, Bars and Clubs

sampling the Barcelona nightlife and enjoying a drink or twoThere are plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs to choose from, which makes this a popular destination for overseas hen parties. The bars and clubs in Barcelona stay open a lot later than they do in the UK. Most places will close around 3am or later – even on a week night! So, brace yourself for some late nights.

The night life has a very laid back and relaxed feel, but beware the Spanish are very generous with their alcohol measures and you could find yourself tipsy after just one or two drinks!

Shopping

If however shopping is your thing, then you need to take a trip to El Triangle, and take some time sampling the shops along Les Rambles and those in and around the Olympic village.

Both spots are firm favourites with the locals and tourists alike, and you’re sure to enjoy the cosmopolitan hustle and bustle of both areas, as well as the many restaurants and bars.
